Maternity

 Maternity Photos

It seems like I currently know many people that have recently had a baby or are expecting. The exciting feelings and anticipation of a newborn baby are floating through the air.

I live the excitement through all of you having the babies because I am done! I am blessed with two boys. They are twins, but very different in every way you can imagine. We are not aiming to have anymore. When all of the other people have their little ones I can just go into cool aunt mode (even if we aren't related!) and give them some spoils and cuddles! Because of all of the babies, I figured it was about time we talk about maternity sessions.

Yay babies!!

If you are considering having some soon, I bet you'll find yourself a little nervous and unsure about the session.

I like to keep sessions easy and that's what we will do. So, here's some advice.

Breathe, relax, and remember this needs to be a celebratory session. Let's enjoy this season of life and what it brings. Avoid the stress. What makes you feel comfortable, yet beautiful? That is what you need to wear.

If you are uncomfortable during your session, while you are pregnant, it might not be your favorite time.

Flowy things, like dresses with multiple layers, long shirts, sheer materials, and layers work really great in maternity sessions. Many people prefer to wear clothes like this.

If you are more of a jeans girls and you want to reflect that, feel free to wear your jeans and the kind of shirt that suits you. Some people choose to expose the belly, while others want it covered. Choose what makes you comfortable for the session.

Cute fitted dresses look cute for belly exposure, if you want to really highlight little baby.

You really have so man options and it comes down to how you feel and your personality. You don't have to copy others around you because that's what you see.

Are you feeling any better about clothes? I hope so! There is something that is just right for you.

If possible, you might even prepare two outfits. We all know we have those days where we just don't like a certain outfit that day, but then we might the next. It could be something you've worn a billion times, but that day it just doesn't look right.

 It just happens!

Prepare clothing for your husband as well, if you are taking him on the shoot. Many of the photos will be just you, but there will also be plenty of the couple.

You may even have something that has the little babes name on it, or a onsie that is extra special. Feel free to bring those along.

So, breath some more to relax. Remember, this is a sweet, precious memory keeper.

If you have any more concerns, let your photographer know. They are there to help you get the most out of your photo session. If you're interested in maternity photos, I'd love to help you.

Reach out. I'm ready.

Let's talk soon!
